Who Are We

Talking to one of our therapists is like talking things through with your best friend – a best friend that just happens to come with professional level qualifications, knowledge and the ability to see your full potential. Sometimes, you just need someone outside the situation to talk to, and a place to express yourself fully. A place like our counselling rooms. Some-one like one of our psychologists and counsellors.

We understand your struggles.
We care about helping you.
We support and motivate you at just the right time.

We’ll be there for you until you reach your goals, cheering you on all the way. That’s what being a counsellor means to us. That’s what we think psychology does best.

Meet Our Team

It’s really important to like the psychologist or counsellor you’re going to be working with. If you’re not comfortable, you’ll struggle to share your thoughts and feelings. You won’t want to try out their suggestions for change. It’ll be all round awkward for all.

Lana Hall Principal Psychologist

Lana Hall

Principal Psychologist
Personal Development Coach
BA (Psych) (Hons), Assoc MAPS

Over the past 12 years, Lana has worked successfully with people affected by anxiety, depression (including pre and postnatal), low self-esteem, burnout and perfectionism. Lana enables her clients to realise the best versions of themselves through personal development, helping you to reach your goals or improve your relationship. She’s even written a book on insomnia – quite possibly the only book in the world intended to put readers to sleep!
(Take a peek at the book here)

Aside from her academic and professional achievements, Lana has something that universities and textbooks simply can’t teach: a down to earth manner. Perhaps this is why clients often remark how easy it is for them to open up and talk with her. With Lana, you can expect compassion, understanding, and a therapist who practices what they preach.

In fact, every technique Lana recommends, she has tried for herself, including ideas from Positive Psychology, Coaching Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Check out a video on mindfulness by Lana here.

You can also put your mind at ease knowing that she’s highly accredited, being registered with the Psychology Board of Australia, an Associate member of the Australian Psychological Society, and eligible to offer services that qualify for Medicare rebates, private health fund rebates, and Workcover/EAP funded sessions.

BA (Psych) (Hons), MCounsPsych

Have you been looking for a truly empathic therapist, some-one you can feel safe  and empowered around? Naomi has a strong interest and affinity in working with people who experience social anxiety, and who need a therapist who gets what it’s like to feel scared around new people. Naomi’s warm, sensitive approach helps her clients open up about their fears, allowing them to experience the benefits of counselling.

Naomi’s affirming approach is also highly suited to those who are experiencing a loss of confidence and self-esteem due to issues such as relationship break-ups/ conflict, bullying at work or school, or recent job loss.

Naomi is a highly skilled mental health professional with over 5 years of experience working with people from a diverse range of backgrounds. The theme of diversity continues in Naomi’s own life. Naomi is fluent in Vietnamese and has a deep appreciation of the experiences of those from different cultural backgrounds living in Brisbane. It gives Naomi a depth of understanding few other counsellors can provide.

Naomi has knowledge and experience in working with clients experiencing social anxiety, generalised anxiety, depression, stress, anger, relationship issues, grief and loss, bullying, conflict at home, deliberate self-harm, suicidal ideation and behaviour, and trauma.

This gives Naomi a great choice in techniques to offer you in her sessions. One of Naomi’s strengths is that she’s such a keen learner – Naomi is always expanding her knowledge for the benefit of her clients, and her own self too, so each time you see her, she’ll have something new to offer!

Tiffany Jackson

Meditation Coach

Have you heard about the many benefits of meditation but just can’t seem to make the habit stick?

Tiffany uses a combination of scientific research, Vedic meditation principles, and mantra work to teach people to meditate in a way that suits them. By focussing on individual circumstances and points of resistance and challenge, Tiffany helps you to create a meditation practice that is sustainable because it has been designed specifically for you and your circumstances.

The benefits of regular meditation practice can include: an increased sense of calm, being more present in the moment, feeling more connected in your relationships, and having greater clarity and focus. With all that possible, it’s worth investing in developing a personalised practice that will actually fit with you and your life.

Tiffany has been teaching meditation full time for the last five years, and prior to this has worked with various meditation styles, yoga practices and self-help tools for the past twenty years. Tiffany’s life is a living example of the idea that meditation can be integrated seamlessly alongside work, parenting, partnering, friendships and having fun too!
